Jessie Wesley (Rabbit) Forbes Jr., 59, of 418 Piedmont Road, died last Friday.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at the Christian Fellowship Center, Snow Hill. Interment will follow at Edward Family cemetery.
Mr. Forbes was born and reared in Greene County and attended the Greene County Schools. He was employed by Franklin Bakery where he was a baker.
He is survived by his mother, Viola Forbes of Snow Hill; two sons, Melvin Ormond of Snow Hill, and Jessie Forbes III of Goldsboro; three daughters, Cassandra Best, Jackie Reid, and Irene Forbes Darden all of Goldsboro; four brothers, Robert Forbes of Fayetteville, James Forbes of Hyattsville, Md., Jasper Forbes of Forrestville, Md., and Rufus Forbes of Goldsboro; four sisters, Delois Parker of Washington, D.C., Edna Forbes of Beltsville, Md., and Linda Levelston and Brenda Speight, both of Snow Hill; and 15 grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 2 until 9 p.m., with family visitation from 7 until 8 p.m. at the Don Brown Funeral Home.
