Leslie "Happy" Gordon Smith, 70, of 2469 Titus Mewborn Road, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Smith was a native of Wayne County and was the son of the late William M. Smith and Sallie Hood Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Betty H. Smith; a son, Terry D. Smith and wife, Jackie, of Saulston; a grandson, Maxwell Gordon Smith; a granddaughter, Madeline Marie Smith; sisters, Ann S. Davis of Wrightsville Beach, Elizabeth S. Seymour of LaGrange, Alyene S. Keene of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
A private service will be held at a later date.
The family requests that memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
Seymour Funeral Home is serving the family.
