EARL W. MOORE SR.

Died Aug. 30, 2005

NEW BERN -- Earl W. Moore Sr., 82, 410 Brown Dr., James City community, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at Bayview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Inc.

He leaves behind to continue his legacy his wife of 64 years, Mamie Long of New Bern; two sons, the Rev. William B. Moore and wife, Pauline, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Dr. Earl W. Moore Jr. of Goldsboro; two daughters, Eva A. Moore of Washington D.C. and Beverly M. and husband, Michael Vail, of Norfolk, Va.; two grandsons, Derrick B. and wife, Caroleen, Moore of Mitcheville, Md., and the Rev. Justin B. Moore of Reston, Va.; two granddaughters, the Rev. Tamieka N. Moore of Philadelphia and Shanay M. Vail of Norfolk; two great-grandchildren, Jerya Maya Moore and Darius Moore of Silver Springs, Md.; a brother, William Moore of Washington D.C.; three sisters, Pearl Delong and husband, Lloyd, of Connecticut and Mamie Lockett and Mary Foy of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A homecoming celebration will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, at noon at Undenominational Pentecostal Holiness Church of New Bern with the Rev. William B. Moore, his son, as eulogist. Interment will be in New Bern Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home Inc. of New Bern. At this time, Masonic rites will be given by the J.M. Hicks Masonic Lodge.
