MOUNT OLIVE -- Melvin Hardy Coker, 64, of 715 Bert Martin Road, died Monday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Seven Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Reverends Doug Bartlett and Jimmy Swinson will officiate.

Mr. Coker was born in Duplin County to the late Leon Cosby and Carma Holmes Coker. He was a member of Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lousetta Coker; three sons, Melvin Wayne Coker and Randy Scott Coker of Dudley and Allen Rouse of Mount Olive; one daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Darrell Garner of Mount Olive; one brother, Jimmy Coker of Mount Olive; two sisters, Christine Green of Mount Olive and Ailene Hamm of Wilson; and two grandchildren, Shannon and Darren Garner.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bruce Coker, Ray Coker and Nelson Coker.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Angie and Darrell Garner, 836 Norwood Ezzell Rd., Mount Olive.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
