Mrs. Sallie Collins Elks, 85, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of the Meadows Assisted Living in Goldsboro.

Mrs. Elks was born November 19, 1919, in Johnston County to the late Nelson Collins and Mary Lynch Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barville Elks Jr. Mrs. Elks lived in Raleigh for about 40 years and retired from Walgreens Drug Store and moved to Goldsboro in 1978. She then worked at Eckerd Drug and retired in 1985. She was a lovable and hard working woman and her family will miss her very much.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Cotton officiating. Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Elks is survived by her sisters, Coralean C. Beasley of Goldsboro and Virginia Thompson of Raleigh; her sisters-in-law, Helen Collins of Goldsboro and Ruby Collins of Smithfield; and six nieces and six nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Lonnie, Johnny and Hoover Collins.

The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home following the service on Thursday, and other times at the home of Corolean Beasley, 2101 O'Berry Center Road, Goldsboro.
