Chris Milton Basden Jr., 67, of 107 Serenity Drive, died today at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Basden was born in Lenoir County to the late Chris Milton Basden Sr. and Helen Craft Basden. He retired from law enforcement in Lenoir County and had served as the assistant chief of police in LaGrange.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Massey Basden; two daughters, Toni Moore of Gastonia and Katherine Inabnitt of Newport; two stepsons, Tim Massey and Steve Massey of California; five grandchildren; and one brother, Gene D. Basden of Kinston.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
