RUTH McARTHUR

Ruth Marie Perkins McArthur, 85, of Lutz, Fla., formerly of the Rosewood community, died Friday at Tampa Health Care Center after a short illness.

She was the widow of Richard "Dick" McArthur and the daughter of the late Timothy Stanton and Ruth Hooks Perkins.

She is survived by three brothers and their wives, Howard Miller and Margie Perkins of Ft. Myers, Fla., Oscar Stanton "Stan" and Dorothy "Dot" Perkins of the Rosewood community and Robert Edward "Bob" and Florence "Flo" Perkins of Goldsboro; one sister and her husband, Helen Perkins Edmundson McLean and Thomas "Tom" McLean of Goldsboro and Atlantic Beach; a special stepdaughter, Terrie Friar and husband Jim of Charleston, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews special friends in Florida.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 2, at 1 p.m. at the Eagles Hall in Lutz, Fla. A private burial will follow in Linda Lakes, Fla., where she and her late husband lived for many years.

The Linda Lakes Circle Retirement Park plans to hold a celebration of her life in early fall. In memory of her love for gardening, the Perkins family will plant a memorial tree in the park in her honor.
