CLAYTON -- Kathleen Deans Cook, 75, sister of Ruth Spence of Goldsboro, died Wednesday.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton.

Mrs. Cook was the widow of Henry Manuel Cook. She was a member of Hope Church in Clayton and was the pianist for a gospel music group, "The Proclaimers," for five years in the 1980s.

In addition to her sister, Mrs. Cook is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Cook of Clayton; one son, Henry M. Cook of Clayton; another sister, Mildred Allen of Clayton; and one grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Hope Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 296, Clayton, 27520.
