KINSTON -- Charles Henry Phillips Sr., 76, of 1745 Hill Farm Road, Kinston, died Tuesday.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Edwards Funeral Home. The Rev. Lacy Oliver and Bryan Hooten will officiate. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Phillips was the son of the late Stephen Henry and Ruth Byrd Phillips. He retired from the North Carolina National Guard with 31 years of service and from Kinston Regional Jetport with 20 years of service. He was president of the Kinston CB Emergency Club for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Baker Phillips; two sons, Charles H. Phillips Jr. and Steve Phillips of LaGrange; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Edwards Funeral Home.
