SARAH M. CASSELL
WILMINGTON -- Sarah McGarry Cassell, 87, of 2007 Porter's Neck Road, died early Monday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Born May 14, 1918, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Robert P. and Emma Gray McGarry. She was the widow of Harrison S. Cassell Jr. and was a retired schoolteacher.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Mack and Linda Cassell of Mount Olive and Harrison S. Cassell III and Shirley Cassell of California; a brother, Robert P. McGarry Jr. of West Virginia; five grandchildren, Justin, Megan, Aroha, Matthew, and Alan Cassell; and three great-grandchildren, Josef Scholl, Ethan Cassell, and Chelsea Cassell.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Chapman, and a sister, Nancy Holden.
No local services will be held.
A memorial service will be held in Charles Town, W.Va., at a later time with interment in the Edge Hill Cemetery there.
Arrangements are by Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
