WILTON TAYLOR

HOOKERTON -- Wilton Taylor, 80, died Tuesday at his home.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 at Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Fred Carraway and the Rev. David Paramore will officiate. The committal service will be held Friday morning at 11 at Snow Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor was a native of Greene County and was the son of the late Bennie and Louise Radford Taylor. He was a charter member at Mount Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Hookerton, where he served as a deacon and held several other positions. He was a retired tobacco farmer and a veteran of the United States Navy.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Worthington Taylor, and is survived by a daughter, Joy T. Wise and husband, Alvin, of Southern Pines; sons, Mac Taylor and wife, Pat, and Danny Taylor and wife, Sherri, all of Hookerton; grandchildren, Kim Rogers of Pinehurst, Dana Taylor of Wilson, Benji Taylor of Winterville, Tammy Oakes, Blake Taylor and Marina Taylor of Hookerton; great-grandchildren, Taylor Ryan, Matthew Taylor, Kate Taylor and Zack Taylor; one sister, Cleo T. Carter of Goldsboro; and one brother, Edward Taylor of Snow Hill.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service tonight, and other times at the residence, 4877 Fourway Road, Hookerton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, P.O. Box 250, Hookerton, N.C., 28538; or to the Greene County Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 36, Snow Hill, N.C., 28580.
