VERTIE LETT

CLINTON -- Vertie Mae Lett, 86, of 120 Southwood Drive, died Tuesday at Mary Gran Nursing Center.

A native of Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Stewart Crumpler and Berta Spell Crumpler. She was a homemaker and was the widow of Thomas Elmer Lett.

She is survived by one daughter, Louise Lett Holland of Dudley; two sons, Thomas S. Lett of Clinton and Thomas Graham Carr of Valparaiso, Ind.; two sisters, Ruby C. Vann and Alma rose Barber of Clinton; one brother, Charles Henry Crumpler of Fayetteville; and five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Thomas S. Lett, 1157 Barker Road, Clinton.

The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home. The Rev. W.H. Calcutt and the Rev. Charles H. Crumpler III will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
