Marjorie Walker Crawford, 79, died Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro

The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Sauls officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Crawford was born in Wayne County to the late Barry S. Walker Sr. and Sallie Barwick Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie G. "Luke" Crawford, and a son, Shelton Crawford. She was a retired sales associate with Belk-Tyler of Goldsboro and was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she attended and served faithfully.

She is survived by two daughters, Sally Crawford Austin of Hampstead and Donna Crawford Peedin of Goldsboro; two brothers, Kenneth Walker of Greensboro and Barry Walker Jr. of Goldsboro; four sisters, Helen Wise, Jean Hobbs and Shirley Lawrence of Goldsboro and Faye Sutton of LaGrange; and three grandchildren, Brian Austin of Fayetteville and Jonathan Peedin and Danielle Peedin of Goldsboro.

The family will greet friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Jean Hobbs, 161 Grant Drive, Goldsboro.

Flowers are welcome and memorial gifts may be directed to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, Hwy. 11l, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
