Ethel "Becky" Mitchell Walton, 83, of 100 Mack Road, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Stephen Norris and the Rev. Jake Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in Bunn Level Cemetery.

Mrs. Walton was born in Wayne County to the late Lee and Kathleen Perkins Mitchell and was married to the late Marion Brown Walton Sr.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ennis Ray and Judy Proctor of LaCompe, La., Jimmy and Donna Walton of Las Vegas, Nev., and Bud Walton Jr. and Janet Walton of Goldsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Perry Jordan of Battleboro; two sisters, Rose Lynch and Anne Elizabeth Walters of Goldsboro; and 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Thurman Mitchell, and two sisters, Bessie Leidy and Mae Carter.

The family will receive friends at the home of Bud and Janet Walton, 135 Radford Drive in Rosewood Acres, where the body will lie in state.

Flowers are welcome, however, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Home, Health & Hospice of Wayne County or Rosewood First Responders.

Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home of Goldsboro is serving the family.
