NATHANIEL COGDELL

The funeral for Nathaniel Cogdell, 90, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Goldsboro Disciple Institute, 211 West Hooks River Road. Bishop Mordecai W. Johnson will officiate. Entombment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Cogdell died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Wayne County and was the son of the late Lewis and Lola Grantham Cogdell. He retired from O'Berry Center and was a deacon at Pleasant Union Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, in Grantham.

He is survived by his wife, Gevena, of the home; his children, D. Parthenia of Willingboro, N.J., Eutean Redding of Goldsboro, Gloria K. Eldridge of Dallas, Ga., Nathan G. Cogdell of Laurel, Md., Wanda Martin of Greensboro and Dwight Cogdell of Goldsboro; three sisters, Mary L. Oates of Newton Grove, Lola Washington of Maryland and Judy B. Wilson of Fayetteville; a brother, Cleo Cogdell of Goldsboro; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The viewing will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Saturday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel and the family will be present to receive friends form 7 until 8 p.m..
