MANTHA B. ROSE

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Mantha Brock Rose, 84, of 2670 N.C. Hiway 111 South at Broadhurst Bridge, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Earl Herring officiating. Burial will follow in the Pate Cemetery.

Mrs. Rose was the daughter of the late Willis and Bessie Capps Hughes and was the widow of Perry Brock and Thurman Rose.

She is survived by a son, Perry Brock Jr.., and his wife, Ellen, of Fayetteville; a daughter, Peggy Brock VanVoltenburg of Mount Olive; six grandchildren, Perry Brock III and wife, Angie, of Clarksville, Tenn., Brian Brock of Erwin, Steven Brock and wife, Melissa, of Fayetteville, Amy V. Harper and husband, Overton, of Kernersville, Melissa Jean VanVoltenburg of Greenville, and Joseph VanVoltenburg Jr. of Greenville; five great-grandchildren, Danielle, Ashley, Rebecca, Charlotte, and Isabelle Brock; and several nieces and nephews, including Kathleen Thornton of Grantham, Margaret Barber of Goldsboro, and Gerald Hughes of Dudley.

Her remains will lie in state at Tyndall Funeral Home until 5 p.m. on Thursday and until service time on Friday.

Friends and family will be received at the VanVoltenburg residence at 2053 Indian Springs Rd., Mount Olive.
