The funeral for Elizabeth Gregory Casey, 89, of 603 Lockhaven Court, was to be held today at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with Pastor Ira Williford officiating. Burial was to be in Wayne Memorial Park.

She died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Halifax County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Eva Jane Holmes Gregory and was married to the late James Emmett Casey and Johnnie William Weaver. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are three sons and their wives, James Douglas and Leann Hines Casey of Lucama, William Jackson and Connie Marie Casey of Clemmons and Cecil Eugene and Janice Lancaster Casey of Fremont; two daughters and their wives, Mary Casey Stevens of Pikeville, Barbara C. and Sammy James Norris of Dudley; a brother, George Idell Gregory of Goldsboro; a sister, Bessie Jane Gregory Holmes of Mount Olive; a sister-in-law, Pauline Haire of Dudley; and 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Nelson Barrett Casey and Samuel Thomas Casey.

The family will greet friends tonight evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home & Crematory, and at other times at the home of Barbara and Sammy Norris, 376 Outlaw Road, Dudley.

Flowers are welcome, and the family request that memorial gifts be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
