MARY WALKER

BATTLEBORO -- Mary Louise Grimes Walker, 89, died Friday, June 3, 2005, at Wilson Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 16, 1915 in Edgecombe County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Grimes. She was a member of Battleboro Church and was a retired as a teacher in the Nash County School System.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Fedd L. Walker; four brothers, Johnny Grimes, Sam Grimes, Marion Eugene Grimes and Bobby Grimes; and a sister, Doro Grimes Killibrew.

She is survived by a daughter, Vicki Walker Drummond and husband, Mickey of Fremont; a son, Henry M. Walker and wife, Gwen of Farmville; a sister, Della G. Shelton of Fayetteville; a brother, Jerry Grimes of Big Spring, Texas; six grandchildren, William M. Drummond III of Charlottesville, Va., Matthew Drummond of Fremont, Meredith Drummond Self of Burlington, Bryan Drummond of Charlottesville, Tandra Paige Walker Pierson of Wilson, Fedd Walker of Sanford; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 2 p.m. Monday in the Fellowship Hall at Battleboro Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., with the Reverends Renee Edwards and Faye Ethridge officiating. Burial will be in Battleboro Cemetery.
