DR. JAMES MCGLONE
Dr. James Henry McGlone, 34, of 103 Broad Oak Place, died Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A native of Smithtown, N.Y., he was the son of Thomas Henry Francis McGlone and Linda Hoffman McGlone of Ohio and was the widower of Jennifer Scharpeger McGlone, who died in 2003.
Dr. McGlone was a 1989 graduate of Patchogue High School and recently received his Ph.D. degree from East Carolina University. He was employed with NOVA Corporation as director of education and facilities and was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church. James was an avid golfer and was a member of Lane Tree Golf Club.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. A.O. Vannorsdall officiating.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Evan McGlone of the home; his sister, Michelle McGlone of Ohio; his brother, Thomas McGlone of Mastic, N.Y.; his father and mother-in-law, John and Martha Scharpeger of Patchogue, N.Y.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the James and Jennifer McGlone scholarship fund, Patchogue School District, South Ocean Ave., Patchogue, N.Y., 11772.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
