SMITHFIELD -- Nancy Brock Lawhon, 86, died Tuesday.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev. Jimmy Earp will officiate. Burial will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Thompson Family Cemetery on Bakers Chapel Road.

Mrs. Lawhon was born in Johnston County on March 10, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Butler and Sarah T. Brock and the widow of Lawrence Lawhon. She spent many years as a domestic worker, cooking and caring for the children of several families.

She is survived by one brother, Noah Brock of Smithfield; a sister, Fannie Green of Smithfield; special friends, Brooke Neal, Olivia Neal, Don Neal and Joann Neal, all of Rosewood; nephews, Tommy Green, Donnie Green, Charlie Green and Ronnie Green; nieces, Peggy Crocker and Brenda Green; and her many friends at Hardee's in Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton immediately following the service tonight.
