ESSIE H. SAULS

Mrs. Essie Hill Sauls, 92, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Sauls was a native of Greene County, born January 28, 1913, the daughter of the late William and Nannie Lancaster Hill. She was a graduate of the Snow Hill High School and a dedicated homemaker. A member of Fort Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church for more than sixty years, she had been active in many of the church organizations and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. Over the years she opened her home to the church's pastors and visiting evangelists with frequent dinner invitations. Mrs. Sauls loved her Lord and constantly endeavored to live a Godly life.

The funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2005, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service, 117 NW Third St., Snow Hill, with the Reverend Mike Grady and Reverend Larry Turlington officiating. Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2005, at the Hill Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Sauls was preceded in death by her husband, Lenwood Sauls, and a daughter, Nancy Carol Sauls.

Her surviving family includes her sons, Lenwood Earl "Len" Sauls and wife Brenda and Douglas G. Sauls and wife Sherl, all of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Nannette S. Smith and husband, Mike, and Lynne S. Tyndall and husband, Blair, all of Goldsboro; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Smith, Hannah Smith, Cullen Tyndall and Alston Tyndall; step-grandchildren, Shane Smith and wife Kacy and Patrick Smith, all of Goldsboro; and a special niece, Hilda Grace Grady and husband, Reverend Mike Grady, also of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends following the service on Thursday, and other times at Mrs. Sauls' home, 259 East Wayne Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
