EDNA RAE CARTER

CLINTON -- Edna Rae Carter, 73, of 941 Boney Mill Road, died Friday at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. today at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home. The Rev. Jimmy Flowers will officiate. Burial will be in the Clinton City Cemetery.

Mrs. Carter, a native of Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Walter and Lela Hope Boyette, and was the widow of James Anderson Carter Sr. She was a seamstress and attended Union Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Willie James Boyette, a sister, Louise Burgess, and two grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Andy Carter of Goldsboro; a daughter, Pam Diorio of Clinton; three sisters, Mary Mageline Baulkum, Effie Gainey, and Elzora Owens; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today at the funeral home from 2 until 3 p.m., the hour prior to the service, or other times at the home of her daughter Pam, 2323 W. Darden, Clinton.
