GEORGE GURGANUS

George Edward "Buddy" Gurganus, 82, of 707 Kentucky Drive, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Grady and the Rev. Harold Heath will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Gurganus was a native of Greene County and was the son of the late Jim and Sally Butts Gurganus. A retired farmer, he owned and operated Buddy's Barbecue for a number of years and was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Tyndall Gurganus; one daughter, Tammy Talton, and her husband, Rusty, of Nahunta; one son, Danny Gurganus, and his wife, Susan, of Pikeville; daughter-in-law, Debbie Moore of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Mandy Hutchinson and husband Brad, Blake Gurganus, Brandon Gurganus, Rusti Talton, and Kelly Langston; one great grandchild, Katie Hutchinson; a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Powell and husband Bryon; and a step-great-granddaughter, Kailey Powell.

Mr. Gurganus was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Gurganus; sister, Inez Lang-ston; and brothers, Frank, Joe, Robert, and Thedie Gurganus.

Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Woods Grove P.F.W.B. Church, 4009 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at the funeral home, and will be at the residence at other times.
