H.G. BEST JR.
MOUNT OLIVE -- H.G. Best Jr., 86, died Sunday.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home. Dr. Dennis Draper and the Rev. Dennis Godwin will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Mr. Best was the son of the late Henry Glacous Best Sr. and Agnes Blanchard Best. He was a retired tax collector for Wayne County and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Kornegay Best; and a special niece, Lillian Kaye Mauldin and her husband, Monty, of Coates; and two great-nephews.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at Tyndall Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
