REID LEE

Jason Reid Lee, 26, of 2140 Emmaus Church Road, died Monday.

Born in Wayne County, he was the son of James Randall "Randy" and Carol Hines Lee and the grandson of Myrtis Lee of Newton Grove and the late Robert Lee and the late Luke and Viola Hines. He was a police officer at Wayne Memorial Hospital, was a former deputy with Wayne County Sheriff's Office, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1997, where he was a member of the ROTC and the Saints Football Team. He graduated from Wayne Community College with an associates degree in criminal Justice and completed Basic Law Enforcement Training. He was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church and the Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents and grandmother, he is survived his sister, Shana Lee-Mills, and her husband, Ralph Mills Jr., of Dudley; and his niece, Leeah Mills of Dudley.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Sasser and the Rev. Mickey Whitfield officiating. Burial with Law Enforcement and Fire Department honors will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home today from 6 until 8 p.m., and at other times at the home of Randy and Carol Lee, 2126 Emmaus Church Road, Dudley.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be directed to the Emmaus Baptist Church Youth Fund, 714 Emmaus Church Road, Dudley, N.C., 28333; or to the Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department, 3900 Arrington Bridge Road, Seven Springs, N.C., 28578.
