NANNIE B. JOYNER

Nannie Bell Bass Joyner, 72, of 146 Perry Farm Lane, died Sunday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

She was born in Wayne County to the late Leslie and Ellen Johnson Bass and was married to Preston Donald Joyner. She retired as housekeeping supervisor at Cherry Hospital after 25 years of service and was a member of Snow Hill Church of God.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Keel will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, James Andrew Cox; one daughter, Loretta Hope Treadway of Oak Hill, W.Va.; three sisters, Mary Dew of Tarboro, Brenda Smoot of Snow Hill and Kaye Anderson of Lucama; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the burial.
