MOUNT OLIVE -- The funeral for Mary Elizabeth Beamon, 88, of 600-B North Point Drive, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Goshen Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, where she was a member. Dr. David Atkinson and Elder Steven C. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Newton Grove.
Mrs. Beamon died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Lillie Young.
She is survived by one daughter, Lillie Irene Brown of Goldsboro; one sister, Mildred Whitley of Princeton; seven grandchildren including Tessa B. Atkinson of Goldsboro; 18 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one goddaughter, Jamelle Lewis of Faison.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Garris Funeral Home, and inspirational wake service will be held on Wednesday night from 7 until 8 at Goshen Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of Tessa Atkinson, 353 Weaver Road in Goldsboro.
