GINNIE RIVENBARK
WILMINGTON -- Ginnie Rose Rivenbark, 63, died Friday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Goldsboro on March 7, 1942. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Rivenbark.
Miss. Rivenbark was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro, and was an active member of the Wilmington First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She served as Chairman of Women's Ministry prayer chain and was involved in the music ministry. She taught fouth grade at Cumberland Mills School in Fayetteville until her retirement in 1990. Miss. Rivenbark had severe rheumatoid arthritis during her last few years, although never allowing it to affect her.
She is survived by her mother, Tempie W. Rivenbark of Wilmington; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Vicki Rivenbark; sister and brother-in-law, Pansy and Wilson Rumley of Wilmington; one sister, Iris Sexton of Goldsboro; two nephews, Will Rivenbark and Ventzie Penev; three nieces, Julie Woodring (Ricky), Lyn Riggs, and Tina Cheek; one great-nephew, Justin Woodring; and one great-niece Kelsey Woodring.
A celebration of Miss. Rivenbark's life will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Wilmington First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 29th and Chestnut St. The Reverends Paul Evans and Rodney Knowles will officiate. Interment will be held 4 p.m. Monday in Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro.
There will be a visitation for family and friends at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel tonight from 7 until 9.
