ELLA MAE WINSTEAD
Ella Mae Rackley Winstead, 75, of 6008 Meadow Lane, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Nash County, she was the daughter of the late Nona Francis and Fannie Carpenter Rackley, and was married to the late Lindsay Winstead. She was retired from R.G. Barry Company following 25 years of employment.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Janice W. Newcomb of Dudley, Barbara W. Horrell of Goldsboro, Faye W. and husband, Donnie Strickland of Goldsboro, Kaye W. and husband, Burt Stroud of Pink Hill; two sisters, Nita Sykes of Castalia, and Lela Mae Coppedge of Spring Hope; seven grandchildren, Lisa N. Ferrell, Ashley Newcomb, Heather H. Smith, Brian Horrell, Alan Strickland, Rebecca Stroud, and Hailey Stroud; three great-grandchildren, Bailey Ferrell, Bryant Ferrell, and Taylor Smith.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Diane Johnson and a son-in-law, Kenneth Newcomb.
Family members will greet friends Sunday evening from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
