GLADYS C. JOYNER
MOUNT OLIVE -- Gladys Chestnutt Joyner, 92, died Thursday.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Brownings United Methodist Church with Dr. Lily Chou officiating. Committal will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
A long-time resident of the Dobbersville community, Mrs. Joyner was the daughter of the late William and Nola Nell Chestnutt and the widow of J. Faison Joyner.
She is survived by a daughter, Nell J. Minshew of Topsail Beach; a son and daughter-in-law, J. Faison "Pete" Joyner Jr. and Wanda Joyner of Mount Olive; four sisters, Lucille Daughtry of Faison, Neta Grimes of Mount Olive, Catherine Sutton of Goldsboro and Roxie Smith of Farmville; four grandchildren, Libby Ratliff, Teresa DeMarco, Jay Joyner and Chad Joyner; and two great-grandchildren, Catherine Ratliff, Alexander DeMarco.
The family will be at the home of Pete and Wanda Joyner, 6264 Mount Olive Hwy., Mount Olive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brownings Church.
Tyndall Funeral Home is serving the family.
