DORIS KORNEGAY

WARSAW -- The funeral for Doris Thigpen Kornegay, 71, of Magnolia, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Community Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in the Kornegay family cemetery.

Mrs. Kornegay died Tuesday at Guardian Care Nursing Home in Kenansville.

She was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Carrie Mae Moody Thigpen of Duplin County and was employed at Guardian Care Nursing Home for 25 years.

Her survivors include her husband, Leslie Wilbert Kornegay of the home; one son, Jamie Alan Kornegay and wife Suzanne of Watha; one stepson, Leslie Wilbert Kornegay Jr. and wife Rose of Warsaw; daughter, Jenna Marie Kornegay and fiancee Brent Parker of Magnolia; four grandchildren, Brodie Kornegay, Colby Kornegay, Ashleigh Manning and Dustin Parker; two step-grandchildren, Anthony Kornegay and Jeremy Cecil; and one brother, Arthur Thigpen and wife Lettie of Calypso.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Community Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Guardian Care (designated for special activities), 209 Beasley St., Kenansville, N.C. 28349.
