PHILLIP C. WELLONS

PRINCETON -- Phillip Conrad "Buddy" Wellons, 71, of 1888 Rains Mill Road, died Friday evening at his residence.

He was born in Johnston County Aug. 23, 1933, and was the son of the late Wiley Thomas and Virginia Phillips Wellons.

Mr. Wellons served his country in the Army and also worked for the Coca-Cola Company for 27 years.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill FWB Church. The Reverend's David Thick, Billy Toler, and Dennis Pollock will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Jean Ballance Wellons; three daughters, Debbie Marshburn of Princeton, Judy Kornegay of Selma, Penny Blackwell of Princeton; five brothers, J.W. Wellons of Charleston, S.C., Nelson Wellons of Orlando, Fla., Gerald Wellons of Princeton, Bob Wellons of Orlando, Fla., Dwight Wellons of Princeton; two sisters, Ethel Burdette Capps of Princeton, and Eugenia Broden of Springfield, Ill.; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.
