MILDRED REGISTER
ROSE HILL -- Mildred Holmes Brown Register died Saturday at Golden Care Rest Home in Wallace.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Dobson Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Golden Grove Cemetery in Kenansville.
Mrs. Register is survived by her son, Edwin Lee Register Jr. and wife, Catherine of Rose Hill; two daughters, Marguerite R. Alphin and husband, John Gilbert of Florence, S.C., Edith R. Brinkley and husband, Charles of Teachey; two sisters, Vivian B. Brock of Rose Hill and Wilma B. Lanier and husband, D.C. of Surf City; one sister-in-law, Eudelle Brown of Raleigh; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Register was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lee Register Sr.;
two brothers, Cecil B. Brown Sr. and Norman Edward Brown Sr.; and two grandchildren, Patricia Lynn Brinkley Scott and John Gilbert Alphin Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dobson Chapel Church, 1540 S. N.C. 50 Hwy., Magnolia, N.C., 28453, or Hospice Carolina East.
A visitation will be held today from 5 until 7 p.m. at Community Funeral Home of Rose Hill and other times at the family home at Register's Cross Rds.
