HENRY LABRECQUE
Henry Francis Labrecque Jr., 64, of 122 Quail Croft Dr., died Friday evening at his residence.
A native of Monmouth County, N.J., he was the son of the late Henry Francis Labrecque Sr and Rosalie Hennessey Labrecque.
Mr. Labrecque was a 1958 graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School in Red Bank, N.J. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Newark College of Engineering, Newark, N.J. in 1962. Mr. Labrecque was a licensed professional engineer and land surveyor in both New Jersey and North Carolina. He first became registered in 1967.
He has been a volunteer fireman since joining the Navesink Hook & Ladder in Red Bank, N.J. in 1961. While a member, he held all line offices at the Navesink Hook & Ladder. He was an instructor at the Middletown Township Fire Academy in New Jersey. He was a member of the Lincroft First Aid Squad in Lincroft, N.J. Mr. Labrecque joined the Saulston Volunteer Fire Department in 1978. He has held the position of Chief of Saulston Volunteer Fire Department since 1980. Mr. Labrecque was selected as the Wayne County Fireman of the Year in 1996 and was past president of the Wayne County Fireman's Associ-ation.
Mr. Labrecque was a member of the Wayne County Transportation Committee and has been an ex-officio member of the Wayne County Planning Board since 1979. He was assigned to the 4th Civil Engineer Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base from 1963-1968. Mr. Labrecque returned to New Jersey in 1968 to work with his father as an associate with Helm Engineering Associates. In 1977, he accepted a civilian position with the 4th Civil Engineering Squadron at SJAFB. From 1995 until he retired in January 2005, he was Deputy Base Civil Engineer with the 4th Civil Engineer Squadron. Mr. Labrecque was awarded the Civil Engineer Meritorious Achievement with Seymour Johnson AFB, NC, Civilian Category, 1980 and the Tactical Air Command Design Excellence Award, Civilian Category, 1988.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Norris O. E. F.S. presiding. Internment will follow in the Oscar Lancaster Cemetery in the Patetown Community with Fireman's Honors.
He is survived by his wife Effie Lancaster Labrecque; daughters, DeAnne Brooks and husband, Greg of Greensboro, Robin Stotka and husband, Chris of Apex, and Joanna Fontaine and husband, Alan of Raleigh; son, Henry F. "Trey" Labrecque III and wife, Cheryl of Clayton; six grandchildren, Connor, Cole, Andrew, Alex, Anna, and Evan; one sister, Phyllis Toon of Interlaken, N.J.; and one brother, Richard Labrecque of Houston, Texas.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 at Seymour Funeral Home.
