KINSTON -- Carl Leroy Wade, 85, stepfather of Nan Foy of Mount Olive, died Sunday.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howard-Carter Funeral Home. The Rev. Jimmy Horne will officiate. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Wade was a retired carpenter and was a member of Rivermont Holiness Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2771, where he served as Post Commander for two years.

He was the son of the late Carl Joseph and Jessie Waller Wade and was the widower of Nancy Ethel Wade.

In addition to his stepdaughter, he is survived by one son, Marvin L. Wade of Grifton; one daughter, Elaine Yater of Kinston; two brothers, Ervin Wade and Raymond Wade both of Kinston; one sister, Nannie Mae Thigpen of Kinston; another stepdaughter, Brenda Little of Asheville; and four grandchildren and one step-grandson.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 in the chapel of Howard-Carter Funeral Home and other times at the home of Belle Wade, 3314 Dobbs Farm Road, Kinston. Howard-Carter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
