BOYDEN P. ROBERTS

MOUNT OLIVE -- Boyden P. Roberts, 81, of 719 Beautancus Road, died Saturday afternoon at his residence.

He was the son of the late Bryant and Lila Swinson Roberts and was a well-known farmer.

Funeral services will be held tonight at in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home. The Reverends Doug Bartlett and Jimmy Swinson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Private interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park on Tuesday.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Marie Williams Roberts of the home; a son, Murray Roberts, and his wife, Vicky, of Mount Olive; two daughters, Rosemary R. Massey, and her husband, Carl, of Newton Grove and Beth R. McLamb and her husband, Woody, of Clinton; three grandchildren, Richard M. Roberts, Adam B. Roberts, and David P. Eldridge; his mother-in-law, Kitty Brogden of Salisbury; a sister, Martha R. Smith of Mount Olive; and two brothers, Wayne Roberts of Davidson and Wyatt Roberts of Mount Olive.

Another brother, Ray Roberts, preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Roberts-Swinson Endowment Fund, Mount Olive College, 634 Henderson St., Mount Olive.
