EVELYN CREECH

PRINCETON -- Evelyn Braswell Creech, 67, a retired case manager with the Department of Social Services in Wayne and Johnston counties, died Sunday afternoon in Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Born May 2, 1937, in Johnston County to the late Richard I. and Ruby Parnell Braswell, she was the widow of Emanuel Harold "Shorty" Creech and was preceded in death by a brother, Worth Braswell, and a sister, Rachel Frazier.

Mrs. Creech was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church where she was active in the Betty Massey Circle. She was also a member of the Wayne County Senior Citizens Group.

Surviving are her son, Richard Harold Creech and wife Yvonne, of Grimesland; daughter, Alyce Creech Farley and husband Mike of LaGrange; brother, James A. Braswell of Smithfield; sisters, Geraldine B. Barnes of Richmond, Va., and Annette B. Rose of Smithfield; and three grandchildren, Richard H. "Richie" Creech Jr. and wife Becky, Jason Creech and Georgia Michelle Farley.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton. The Reverends Josh Williamson, Steve Stephenson and Bill Bradley will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton.
