DORIS E. GRAHAM

DORIS E. GRAHAM

Doris Ezzell Graham, 84, a native and lifelong resident of Goldsboro passed on to the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2005, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

She was the widow of William Everette "Bill" Graham of Goldsboro and formerly of St. Matthews, SC.

Mrs. Graham owned and operated Graham and Sons Plumbing Company, along with her husband, Bill Graham, in Goldsboro for over three decades. She also was a private duty nurse for over twenty years. Mrs. Graham was a foster parent in Wayne County and surrounding counties. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to cook and was praised for the food she prepared, but was well known for the many pots of tea she made for the neighborhood kids. Never a harsh word, and always a loving and encouraging gentle spirit, she provided a home and warmth to many children other than her own. Many children in the area grew up calling her Aunt Doris and through the coming years, she was affectionately known to all those around her as "Grandma" and "Mema Doris."

She was a person of strength, courage, integrity and love. She loved her family, she loved life, and she always gave praise to God. "Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant."

Mrs. Graham was a member of the Eastern Star, a charter member of Jefferson United Methodist Church but in her declining years, she attended Eureka Christian Church in the Dobbersville area of Wayne County.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Purvis and Rev. Doug Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
