Virginia "Ginny" Galway Deen, 80, died on Feb. 10 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Atlanta, after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 1998.

A memorial service was held at Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Atlanta, Ga., on Feb. 12 and a graveside service was held on Feb. 19 at Arlington National Cemetery, where she was buried beside her late husband, James William Deen.

Mrs. Deen was a native of Virginia. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 1946 then persued a career in nursing. She was employed as a civilian nurse for Seymour Johnson Air Force Base from 1970-1986, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and attended Daniels Memorial Church.

Surviving are one son, Jamil Zainaldin of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter Sarah Vorhis of Richmond, Va., and five grandchildren.

The family requests that memorial gifts be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
