RALPH WEAVER SR.

Ralph Nelson Weaver, Sr., 73, of 494 Stevens Church Road, died suddenly Saturday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Weaver was born in Wayne County and was the son of the late Gertha and Clara Denning Weaver. He was the devoted husband of 51 years to the late Dorothy Hollowell Weaver. Mr. Weaver was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church and the Mill Creek Masonic Lodge #125 A.F. & A.M. in Newton Grove. He was Past Master of the Lodge.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Falling Creek Baptist Church. The Reverend's Ron Varner, Bill Mathis and Jim Turbyfield will officiate. Interment will follow at Falling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Mr. Weaver is survived by his children, Sandra Thompson and husband, Wiley, June Scott and husband, Jimmy, Ralph N. Weaver, Jr. and wife, Grey, Nancy Lipa and husband, Gary, and Lisa Adams and husband, Randy, all of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Dewitt Thompson, Bryan Thompson, Ledell Scott, Joshua Scott, Lisa Knoll, Linda Weaver, Christy Weaver, Jake Lipa, Amy Lipa, Jonathon Kornegay, Joseph Kornegay and Ethan Adams; and his great-grandchildren, Kayla Scott and Kimberly Scott.

He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Russell Weaver of Grantham, Glenn Weaver and wife, Hilda of Washington, Carl Weaver and wife, Faye of Creedmoor, Roy Weaver and wife, Anita of Fayetteville, Donald Weaver and wife, Joyce of Kentucky, James Weaver and wife, Beverly of Grantham, Charles Weaver and wife, Annette of Grantham, Doris Weaver of Grantham, and Hazel W. Ballard and husband, Hugh of Stafford, Va.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Wright Weaver and his grandson, Daniel Leon Kornegay.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home in Grantham.
