REV. N. D. BEAMAN

SNOW HILL -- The Rev. Noah Daniel "Dan" Beaman, died Thursday at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson.

A native of Greene County, he was born October 27, 1909, the son of the late Henry Harlow and Margaret Elizabeth Beaman. Following high school, Reverend Beaman attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. He spent most of his adult life devoted to his calling in the ministry and continued to serve as pastor of churches throughout eastern North Carolina well into his eighties. He also was a retired farmer, but continued to work with local farmers each tobacco season until a few years ago when his health began to decline.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church, with the Reverend Alan Joyner officiating. Interment will be in Snow Hill Cemetery.

Rev. Beaman was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Heath Beaman, and is survived by two daughters, Joyce B. Taylor and husband David of Snow Hill and Mary E. Reed and husband Randy of Virginia; a grandson, Don W. Godwin and wife Marie, also of Virginia; and two great-granddaughters, Grace Godwin and Caroline Godwin.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service and other times at the residence, 3999 Beaman Old Creek Road, Snow Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Free Union F.W.B. Church, 2573 Firetower Road, Walstonburg, N.C., 27888.
