DAVID DEANS

David Edward Deans, 75, of 111 Fulton Road, died Wednesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Wilson County to the late Leslie and Martha Tedder Deans. A medically retired veteran of the U.S. Army, he was awarded The Purple Heart along with many other commendations. He saw duty during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sadie Deans of Dudley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie E. and Susan Deans of Lincolnton and Keith and Sue Deans of Arden; one sister, Inez Benson of Wilson; and five grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Morgan, Hannah and Sarah Deans.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Reverends Ron Hawley and Shirley Ward will officiate. Burial will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
