BRINKLEY TAYLOR

Mr. Brinkley Harrell Taylor, 83, of 915 Hwy. 581 South, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at his home after an extended illness.

Mr. Taylor was born March 23, 1921, in Wayne County to the late Floyd Taylor Sr. and Flora Alexander Taylor and was a retired carpenter with Cherry Hospital. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Taylor was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Olsen and Rev. Otto Griffin officiating. A private interment will be held Friday at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Thelma Brock Taylor; his daughters, Rosanne T. Jones and husband Bernard of Mount Olive and Teresa T. Woods and husband Lee of Greenville; his sister, Violet T. Metz of Goldsboro; and his grandchildren, Nikki Jones Wood and husband Albert, Brandi Woods, Whitney Woods and Taylor Jones.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Taylor, Jr.

Memorials may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church Building Fund, 867 Hwy. 581 South, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530; or to Spring Creek Christian School.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
