RUSSELL WORTHINGTON

SNOW HILL -- Arnold Russell Worthington, 57, died Monday at his residence.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday at Rainbow Cemetery. The Rev. Chuck Owens will officiate. The Snow Hill Fire Department Honor Guard will provide fire department honors for the service.

Mr. Worthington was a native of Greene County and was the son of the late Jarvis Russell and Hilda Kilpatrick Worthington. Russell was raised in Snow Hill and attended Calvary Memorial United Methodist Church as a child and was an Eagle Scout. Following high school, he attended North Carolina State University and worked as an electrical engineer with ITT in Raleigh. After he retired he returned to Snow Hill and became active in the Snow Hill Fire Department, serving as its treasurer and maintaining the radios for emergency management personnel. He was a member of the American Radio Relay League and was a HAM Radio Operator.

He is survived by a brother, Frank Worthington of Greensboro, and three nieces, and an aunt.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Snow Hill Fire Department, P.O. Box 384, Snow Hill, NC 28580.

The family is being served by Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service.
