LUNEY GUNTER

KENLY -- The funeral for Luney Gunter, 94, will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Coley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Moore's Chapel Church Cemetery.

Mr. Gunter died Sunday at his home in Selma.

He was born in Parrotsville, Tenn., and was the son of the late Joseph and Millie Norton Gunter. He had worked as a coal miner and owned and operated a trucking company.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Tedder Gunter; daughters, Sharon Tomlinson of Youngsville, Catherine Martin of Kenly, Wanda Jackson of Winterville, Vonda Goff of Elm City and Betty Meyer of Fort Myers, Fla.; sons, Doug Gunter of Kenly, Arnold Gunter of Georgia and Kenneth Gunter of Braden, Fla.; a sister, Tisha Moore of Newport, Tenn.; and 27 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service on Tuesday night.
