CORA BERRY

NEW BERN -- Cora Dickerson Berry, 76, died Monday at Britthaven of New Bern.

She was born in Fremont and had lived in New Bern for over 40 years. She was formerly employed as a cook at the Palace Motel.

Surviving are three sons, William Dickerson and Ronald Berry of New Bern and Joel Dickerson of Silver Spring, Md.; six daughters, Sherry A. Berry, Sandra L. Smith, Patricia B. Cannon, Angela B. Smith and Phyllis Berry of New Bern and Faye B. Mills of Durham; four sisters, Edna D. Thompson and Mary Esther D. Alston of Fremont, Quennie D. Reid of Wilson and Margie D. Mitchell of Woodbridge, Va.; and 29 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren

The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Oscar's Mortuary. The Rev. P.O. Rodgers will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence at 2709 New Bern Avenue.

The viewing will be at Oscar's Mortuary from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
