BILL EDWARDS
Luby "Bill" Edwards, 80, of 404 Park Ave., died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Wiley and Louise Barber Edwards and father of the late Thomas William Edwards. A Veteran of the US Navy, he was retired from Hevi-Duty and was a self employed mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Strickland Edwards; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Luby Jr. "Doodle" and Janice Edwards of the Grantham Community, Michael Edwards of LaGrange and Timothy Edwards of Goldsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Pennie and Duke Young of the Grantham community; and 12 grandchildren and t13 great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. Capt. John Leidy will conduct the service.
Family members will greet friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence.
