FREMONT -- Leo Arnold Mitchell, 88, of 1055 N.C. 222 E., died Saturday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A graveside service will be held today at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. The Reverend's Powell Dew and P.C. Yelverton will officiate.

Mr. Mitchell was born in McCracken Co., Kentucky to the late E.E. Mitchell and Elsie Langston Mitchell. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Kentucky and was a farmer in Fremont. He was retired from S & D Milling Company of Fremont and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. During his time in service he received several decorations including the American Theater Service Medal and the World War II Victory Campaign Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Ade Lee Aycock Mitchell; one brother, Morris Edward Mitchell of Lexington, Kentucky; one sister, Louise Shepherd Melber of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to the Fremont Rescue Squad.

The family is being served by Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St., in Fremont.
