MOUNT OLIVE -- John Christopher "Chris" Miller, 31, of Baker's Chapel Church Road, died early Sunday morning in a single motor vehicle accident.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Singleton and the Rev. McCoy Brock officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Miller was a graduate of North Duplin High School and the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Okla. He was a licensed flight instructor and was employed with Corporate Airlines as an airline pilot/captain and also with his father at Johnny Miller Electric Service in Mount Olive. He was a former member of the Dudley Volunteer Fire Dept.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Loftin Miller, and their children, John Dylan Miller and Alexis Miller; his father and step-mother, Johnny and Mary Ann Miller of Mount Olive; his mother, Deborah Foss Saylor of Mount Olive; a brother, Todd Miller of Mount Olive; a sister, Leigh Miller of Greenville; his paternal grandmother, Almond P. Miller of Mount Olive; and his maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Thelma and Preston Royall of Mount Olive.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Miller, and his maternal grandfather, Adrian Foss.

The family will receive friends today from 7 until 9 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Johnny and Mary Ann Miller at 112 West College Street in Mount Olive.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Dudley Volunteer Fire Department.
