WILLIAM HOUSTON

WARSAW -- The funeral for William Frank Houston, 81, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Warsaw. The Rev. Billy Wright will officiate. Burial will be in the Devotional Gardens.

Mr. Houston died Wednesday at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.

He was a native of Duplin County and was the son of the late William and Rella Noble Houston. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was formerly employed as a machinist with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church in Warsaw, where he served on the Trustee and Usher boards.

His survivors include one son, Jeffery Houston of Warsaw; four brothers, Jonas Houston of Washington, D.C., Earl Houston of Albertson, James Houston of Maryland, and Clarence Houston of Far Rockaway, N.Y.; and three sisters, Rella Mae Battle of Kenansville, Sadie Bell Brown of Winterville and Kathryn Pitt of Goldsboro.

The viewing will be held on Saturday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home in Warsaw.

The funeral procession will line up at the residence, 1343 N.C. 24&50 Hwy., Warsaw.
